List recent workspaces
The workspaces the app opened last, the most recent first (at most 20): the root of each, when it was opened, and whether the root still holds reqseq-workspace.yaml. The list belongs to the user, not to a workspace, so every access gives the same list from any folder.
Command workspace.recent. Reads the workspace and changes no file.
No input.
Output
Section titled “Output”| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
workspaces |
array of object |
yes | The workspaces the app opened last, the most recent first, as the app’s core process recorded them in <OS cache>/reqseq/recent-workspaces.json (ADR-0008). Empty when none is recorded or the list cannot be read. Only the app records; the command line, the API and the MCP server only read the list. |
workspaces[].root |
string |
yes | The absolute path of the workspace root as the app opened it last (the folder that holds reqseq-workspace.yaml). |
workspaces[].opened |
dateTime |
yes | When the app opened it last. |
workspaces[].exists |
boolean |
yes | Whether <root>/reqseq-workspace.yaml is a file now: the root itself, never a folder above it. A root without an answer within 1 s (a share that does not answer) counts as false; while earlier checks of this process still hang (a long-running API or MCP server), every root may count as false. |
In the command prompt (Ctrl+Shift+P, macOS ⌘⇧P): the command List recent workspaces.
reqseq workspace recent, with --json for the output as JSON. Its help:
Usage: reqseq workspace recent [options]
The workspaces the app opened last, the most recent first (at most 20): the rootof each, when it was opened, and whether the root still holdsreqseq-workspace.yaml. The list belongs to the user, not to a workspace, soevery access gives the same list from any folder.
Options: --input <json|@file|-> command input as JSON: inline, from a file, or from standard input --workspace <path> workspace root (default: nearest folder upwards with reqseq-workspace.yaml) --json print exactly the command output as JSON --yaml print the whole command output as YAML, problems one per line -h, --help show helpPOST /v1/commands/workspace.recent on the local API (reqseq serve api), with the input as the JSON body; the answer is the output.
Tool workspace_recent of the MCP server (reqseq mcp), with the input as its arguments.
